Opera performances at Les Capucins

Ordering tickets

How much do opera and concert tickets cost?

Opera tickets cost 70 € (category 1) or 50 € (category 2). Seating is numbered and seats are allocated at the time of the order. The theatre layout has been modified for 2026 compared to 2025; we are going back to raked seating where each row is ghier up than the one in front, whereas in 2025 we had 2 rows of seats per level.

When does booking open for the 2026 season?

Booking is now available online. Just click on the buttons on selected pages of our website.

Can I get a reduction for a group or for buying tickets for more than one opera?

Yes, for a group of 10 or more, every 11th place is offered free of charge. This reduction applies to a group attending a specific performance with all seats in the same price category.

Also, if you book for all 3 operas in a given seating category, you benefit from a reduction. This is not a group rate; it applies to orders for any number of people.

Are reduced prices proposed for young people?

Sorry, no.

How do I order tickets for operas and concerts?

The best method is to follow links on the website to our ticketing section, where you can choose seats, add certain extras such as dinners if you wish, and pay by bank card.

Immediately after termination of your transaction you will receive your tickets, and vouchers if any, to your specified email address.

Can I buy tickets in person?

Yes, from 1 May at the Office de Tourisme de l’Anjou Vert, place de l’Europe (inside the Château of Baugé).

Concert tickets can be bought on the day at the CCRA from 45 minutes before the start of the concert. Availability of seats for the concerts is more or less guaranteed.

How do I order dinners or picnics?

You can order dinners or picnics together with your seats, online or at the Office de Tourisme,

If you wish to add these to your order later on, you can create a separate order in the ticketing system by selecting a date, then skipping the seating and going straight to extras.

You can also order by phone but we require you to pay for your orders in advance.

Can I reserve tables and chairs for my picnics?

Yes, using the same procedure as for dinners and picnics.

If I order dinners, do I also need to reserve tables and chairs?

No, tables and chairs are provided by us in the restaurant.

What is your returns/refund policy?

We do not refund tickets once purchased. We will refund dinners and picnics provided that we are given sufficient notice to change our order on our suppliers.

The performances

What is the timetable for opera performances?

Opera performances start at 6pm and there is an interval of 90 minutes for dining or picnicking.

The only exception is the matinee performance of Don Pasquale on 2 August which starts at 3pm. The interval for the matinee performance is of 60 not 90 minutes.

Are performances suitable for young children?

Performances are aimed at adults but we welcome well-behaved children accompanied and properly supervised by adults. We do not permit entry of babies and very young children who can spoil the enjoyment of other members of the audience.

In what language are the operas sung?

Operas are sung in their original language. Don Pasquale, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi are sung in Italian. Acis, Galatea and Polyphemus is our own pastiche of more than one Handel opera, and will be sung partly in English an partly in Italian.

Are there surtitles?

Yes, there are surtitles for all three operas in French and English.

What are the menus for picnics and dinners?

You can find dinner and picnic menus here (link to be added)

What if I arrive late for a performance?

Our staff will use their judgement as to when you can enter the theatre without disturbing other members of the audience so we do not guarantee that you will be able to enter until there is a pause in the performance.

Is there a dress code for operas?

No. Audience members have suggested in the past that we ask for people to be dressed elegantly and formally but this does not necessarily fit well with the frequently hot weather.

Can I enter the theatre in a wheelchair?

Yes, we have 4 wheelchair places for each performance which can be reserved online.

In addition to pre-ordered dinners and picnics, there is a bar and tea-room. Subject to the availability of space in the tea-room you can use it without reservation. Typical tea-room menus are shown here.

Can I bring my own picnic?

You certainly can! Many of our regular audience members bring their picnics, ranging from the most simple to elaborate meals with fine china, glassware and table decorations.

If you bring your own picnic you can, if you wish, reserve tables and chairs from us for a small fee, or you can bring your own equipment.

What if it rains?

We erect tents in the park for this eventuality. If the theatre is full or close to, the tents may be rather crowded but we will do our best to find shelter for everybody.
