Philip Hesketh, chef d’orchestre

Il étudia au Guildhall School, Londres. Il est directeur musical du London Childrens’ Ballet Company, du West London Sinfonia, du Richmond Orchestra et du Norfolk Symphony Or-chestra. Il a fait ses débuts au Royal Opera House Covent Garden en dirigeant Casse-Noisette (Tchaïkovski). Il dirige souvent au Volksoper à Vienne, le Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, le Ballet Royal de Suède, l’Orchestre des Jeunes de la Suisse. Il a aussi dirigé Philharmonia National de Moldavie, L’Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Wiener Residenz Orchestra et Olsztyn Orchestre National de Pologne.

Alex Ingram, conductor

alex ingramAlex Ingram has worked on the music staffs of ENO, WNO and the Kieler Oper, and was Music Director of the State Opera of South Australia. Subsequently as a Resident Conductor at ENO he conducted well over 100 performances of a very wide range of repertoire (including, in addition to the mainstream works of Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, five Wagner operas). He has also conducted for Malmö Opera, New Zealand Opera, Opera Queensland and conducted Anna Bolena with the Philharmonia (at the Tower of London!). He has conducted Tannhäuser at the Sydney Opera House, Susannah and Rusalka for ETO, and Cunning little vixen, Don giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro for BYO. For three seasons (2014-2017) he visited the Wiener Staatsoper regularly to conduct Schwanensee (Swan Lake) and a triple bill of contemporary ballets. He conducted the premieres of both productions (the Swan Lake premiere was broadcast on Austrian TV and released on commercial DVD). He has conducted for the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theatres, the Met (New York) and in Australia, and regularly conducts for ENB, most recently at the Opéra de Paris (Palais Garnier), Teatro El Liceu Barcelona, and in Bogota. Sylvie Guillem often asked Alex to conduct for her during the ten years before she retired, particularly in Japan and China. He has also appeared as Guest Conductor for Göteborg Ballet creating their delightful new production of Prokofiev’s Cinderella there.

Konstantinos Diminakis, director of the conducting course and competition

kostqs diminakisKonstantinos Diminakis, artistic director of “Orpheus Kammerorchester Wien”, studied orchestra conducting at the Vienna University for Music and Performing Arts (U.Lajovic) and piano at the University of Macedonia – Department of Music Science and Art (class D. Evnouhidou). He attended master classes with international conductors including Zubin Mehta, Sir Simon Rattle, Collin Metters, Daniel Harding. He has conducted among others the RSO/ÖRF Vienna, Wiener Kammerorchester, Kammerorchester Graz, as well as the Rzeszow Orchestra – Poland, the orchestra of Ploesti-Romania and ALEA III-Boston.  He was chosen by the London Symphony Orchestra as one of the most talented young conductors of Europe for 2012 (Donatella Flick Competition).  He has conducted performances in opera houses like  Klosterneuburg Opera-Austria, Opera de Bauge-France, Rose Theater-London,National Opera of Greece and various concert halls like Musikverein-Vienna, Gasteig-Munich, Liederhalle-Stuttgart, Brucknerhaus-Linz.

Nandor Szederkényi, leader

Nandor Szederkényi began his artistic career in Budapest, where he won first prize at the Szigeti International Violin Competition 1979 and the national Hubay prize. He has performed as a soloist in Germany, Belgium, Italy and France. As winner of the CBC National Radio Auditions, he spent a successful period in Canada after which he was invited to lead Century Orchestra Osaka, Japan.

His recordings include many newly discovered, lesser-known works by various composers, such as the Trio “Le Londres” by Ysaÿe with soloists of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, as well as transcriptions and recordings of orchestral and keyboard masterpieces for violin/harp duo or violin solo.

Bernadette Grimmett, artistic director

Co-founder of Opéra de Baugé, where to date she has produced her own stagings of 42 different operas. Her early producing experience was gained in the theatre, where she produced numerous plays including Cyrano de Bergerac and The Importance of Being Ernest for London University, and particularly those of Shakespeare including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado about Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, Pericles, As You Like It, Twelfth Night and Coriolanus.
