Baugé is a beautiful historical town set in a region of considerable natural beauty with a wealth or architectural treasures and a long tradition of wine production and gastronomy.
Apart from its own attractions Baugé is a convenient base from which to explore the river Loire, the chateaux along and near it, the varied and renowned wines, white, red, sparkling, still, dry, sweet, together with local products such as cheese, meat, vegetables and special sauces.
The town of Baugé is officially listed as one of the most beautiful destinations in France (“Les Plus Beaux Détours de France”) and as one of the small towns of character (“Petites Cités de Caractère”) of the Loire region.
