Introduction

Introduction to the 2017 season

All opera performances will be given at Les Capucins, 49150 Baugé-en-Anjou, under cover in the mobile theatre.

Performances will start promptly at the times shown on the Programme page. For opera performances (not Pied Piper) there will be an interval of 90 minutes for dinners and picnics.

Opera tickets cost 65 €, 45 € and 25 €. Every order for 10 tickets at 65€ or 45 € for a particular performance qualifies for the 11th ticket free of charge. A season ticket (3 operas) costs 165 € in the top category and 120 € in the second category. These reductions may be combined, so that a group of 11 people coming to all three operas would pay 1,650 € in total in the top category, representing an average price of 50 € or a discount of 23% on the single ticket price.

You can book opera tickets, as well as dinners, picnics and chairs/tables in the park of Les Capucins, using any of the following methods:

  • online via our website: Payment is by bank card.
Online booking is now available. Payment is via PayPal, and please note that it is NOT necessary to have a PayPal account for this purpose even though the PayPal page is far from clear. We intend to replace the PayPal link with one to our bank.
  • by post, using a form downloaded from the website – click here – or the form in the printed version of the brochure. Payment is by cheque. If you want to pay by sterling cheque you will find the sterling prices and payee instructions on the downloadable English-language version of this brochure.
  • from the Office de Tourisme du Baugeois en Anjou
by telephone (+33 2 41 89 18 07), or in person. Opening times are shown on their website – http://www.tourisme-bauge.com/

This year we will issue electronic tickets, although you may request paper ones. We have put last year’s system problems behind us.

We will organise a conducting competition in the form of a training course followed by a concert on 1st August when each finalist will conduct the orchestra, after which there will be a prize-giving. We also plan to put on a children’s opera performed by children, “The pied piper of Hamelin”.
